II. Issues Specific to Non-Canadian Parties
While Canadian courts and tribunals routinely hear matters both initiated by and involving non-Canadians, there are a variety of procedural and other issues that must be kept in mind.
Canada is also a party to international agreements for enforcement of arbitration awards. An arbitration award made in Canada may be enforced in any other signatory jurisdiction, and awards from other signatory jurisdictions may be enforced in Canada.
This section also summarizes rules for the involuntary taking of evidence in Canada for use in foreign proceedings and taking of evidence outside Canada for use in Canadian proceedings.
