Blake, Cassels & Graydon LLP (Blakes) has been named as the country’s leading law firm brand for the second year running in the Acritas Canadian Law Firm Brand Index 2017.
This is the third time Blakes has held the number-one position since the index was first introduced in 2012.
“Our brand is the promise we make to our clients,” said Rob Granatstein, Firm Managing Partner at Blakes. “It’s a promise of exceptional advice, anticipating our clients’ needs and high-level service delivery — a promise we try and live up to each and every day.
“I’d like to thank our clients for this recognition. We’re very pleased.”
Blakes increased its lead on other law firms in Canada in this year’s survey, including gains in brand awareness and favourability among the Canadian and international general counsel surveyed.
The Firm also held its lead position on consideration for major M&A in Canada, as well as its number-one position as most-used firm in Canada by international (inbound) clients.
The 2017 Acritas Canadian Law Firm Brand Index
was compiled from the unprompted responses of 250 senior general counsel in Canadian organizations with revenues over US$50-million who were asked about their awareness of and favourability towards law firms, their consideration of firms for top-level litigation and major M&A, as well as their use of firms for high-value and inbound work.
In addition, a number of elite (US$1-billion-plus revenue organizations) senior in-house counsel outside Canada were also asked which firms they used for their legal needs in Canada.
The results were also announced in the Financial Post.
