TORONTO (September 25, 2013) – Blake, Cassels & Graydon LLP (Blakes), one of Canada’s leading business law firms, today announced that Sue Grundy has won a 2013 “Lexpert Zenith Award: Celebrating Leading Women Lawyers.”

“Sue has led by example as a leading practitioner in a highly demanding and complex practice area,” said Brock Gibson, the Firm’s Chair. “She was co-leader of our Restructuring & Insolvency group for 11 years, and during that time, it developed into one of the leading insolvency practices in Canada. This is a well-deserved honour!”

Ms. Grundy’s practice focuses on commercial insolvencies, including debt restructuring, mergers and acquisitions involving distressed businesses, bankruptcy, and security enforcement. She has extensive experience in insolvency proceedings of all kinds in domestic and cross-border cases on behalf of both debtors and creditors in a broad range of industries. She is also a member of the Firm's management team, serving as the Firm's General Counsel and assisting in implementing our strategy and business plan.

In 2012, Sue was recognized by the Turnaround Management Association (Toronto Chapter) as a "Trailblazer for Women in Restructuring." In 2003, she was named one of "Canada's Top 25 Women Lawyers" by Lexpert magazine.
