TORONTO (October 2, 2015) – We are pleased to announce that Tara Piurko, partner at Blake, Cassels & Graydon LLP, has been elected to serve on the Commercial Real Estate Women (CREW) Network Board of Directors for 2016. CREW Network is the industry’s leading advocate for the advancement of women in commercial real estate. Tara is the second Canadian CREW Network board member in the organization’s history. The announcement was made today at the 2015 CREW Network Convention held in Seattle.

Tara will officially begin her post in January 2016. She is currently serving as Past-President of Toronto CREW after having been elected President in 2014. Tara has been a member of the Toronto chapter since 2007 and was elected to the board of directors in 2012.

“CREW Network is an essential and effective organization for women in commercial real estate and I am honoured to have been elected to serve on the board of directors,” Tara said. “Having worked with the wonderful women at Toronto CREW for many years, I am excited to begin this new chapter and look forward to working alongside the brilliant and accomplished women of this organization.”

Tara has been practicing commercial real estate law for more than 13 years with her main areas of expertise including land development, real property assessment and taxation, and municipal law issues. She also provides specialized strategic advice to public and private developers and negotiates settlements with municipalities, community groups, neighbours and other parties.
