​TORONTO (January 19, 2017) – Blake, Cassels & Graydon LLP (Blakes), one of Canada’s leading business law firms, has announced the addition of 10 new partners, including three new partners in the Firm’s Competition & Antitrust group.

The 10 partners are based across three of our Canadian offices, as well as the Firm’s office in London, England.

“Each of these individuals has shown a real commitment and has worked extremely hard to meet the needs of their clients,” said Rob Granatstein, Firm Managing Partner of Blakes. “I welcome each of them into the Blakes partnership and wish them all the best in this important next step of their career.”

Our Toronto office welcomes six new partners. Cassandra Brown, Joshua Krane and Kevin MacDonald are new partners in the Blakes Competition & Antitrust group. They provide advice on all aspects of competition law, including M&A, abuse of dominance, criminal and civil investigations, compliance, and foreign investment transactions under the Investment Canada Act.

Iris Antonios is a new partner in the Blakes Litigation & Dispute Resolution group. Iris has a broad commercial litigation and arbitration practice, with experience in regulatory investigations, mining litigation, environmental matters, construction litigation, and complex commercial disputes.

The Blakes Restructuring & Insolvency group welcomes Chris Burr as a new partner. Chris's practice focuses on corporate restructuring, insolvency litigation and debt enforcement.

Peter Lee is a new partner in the Tax group. Peter specializes in corporate and partnership income taxation.

In Calgary, Keith Marlowe joins our partnership in the Blakes Litigation & Dispute Resolution group. Keith practises corporate/commercial litigation with a focus on insurance coverage and defence, oil and gas, product liability, intellectual property, and class action litigation.

In Vancouver, Zaichi Hu and Samantha Rossman have been promoted to partner. Zaichi is a corporate and commercial lawyer who represents multinational companies and Chinese enterprises on areas such as foreign direct investment, M&A, financing, energy and mining. Samantha represents financial institutions and corporate borrowers on project, second-lien and mezzanine financings, and on bilateral, syndicated loan, asset-based lending, commercial real estate loan and cross-border transactions.

Michael Kariya has been promoted to Partner in our office in London, England. His practice focuses on a broad range of corporate and commercial transactions, including cross-border M&A, joint ventures and general advisory matters.
