Laurie's practice focuses primarily on mergers and acquisitions and general corporate law. She has participated in a range of transactions in various industries, with a particular focus on the technology sector.

Laurie regularly assists in drafting and reviewing commercial agreements in the technology sector, including service and licensing agreements.

With respect to intellectual property, Laurie advises clients in relation to copyright protection and infringement matters. Laurie also has experience providing advice on privacy law and Canada's new anti-spam legislation.

Prior to joining Blakes, Laurie worked in Ottawa as a policy fellow for the Samuelson-Glushko Canadian Internet Policy and Public Interest Clinic (CIPPIC) where she worked on advocacy issues that arise at the intersection of law & technology, including copyright, privacy and geographic information systems.

Laurie is fluent in French, English and Greek and has a working knowledge of Italian.
