Raees's practice focuses on advising clients on a wide variety of international and domestic capital markets transactions, including public financings, mergers and acquisitions, and private placements. He also advises Canadian and foreign companies on corporate governance and securities law compliance matters.

Raees summered at Blakes after his second year of law school and articled with the Firm upon graduation.

  • BCE in connection with its acquisition of mobile products distributor Glentel Inc. for consideration totalling approximately C$594-million and its subsequent divestiture of 50 per cent of Glentel Inc. to Rogers Communications Inc.
  • Audax Private Equity in connection with its acquisition of rehabilitation service providers LifeMark Health Corp. and Viewpoint Medical Assessment Services Inc. for consideration totalling approximately C$245-million
  • Safarliand, LLC in connection with its acquisition of body armour manufacturer Pacific Safety Products Inc. for consideration totaling approximately C$15.4-million
  • Starlight U.S. Multi-Family (No. 5) Core Fund in connection with its acquisition of four publicly listed Starlight U.S. multi-family limited partnerships and Campar Capital Corporation, resulting in a total enterprise value of US$1.1-billion
  • Driven Brands Inc. in connection with its acquisition of collision and glass repair franchisor Carstar Automotive Canada Inc.

  • The underwriters in connection with the US$75-million initial public offering of Mainstreet Health Investments Inc. as well as its follow-on offering of convertible unsecured subordinated debentures for US$45-million
