  • A leading U.S.-based bill payment software company in its C$304-million acquisition of a Vancouver-based company in a similar space

  • Maverix Metals in connection with its acquisition of a royalty portfolio from Goldfields

  • Romarco Minerals Inc. in connection with its C$856-million acquisition by OceanaGold Corporation

  • Newstrike Capital Inc. in connection with its C$135-million acquisition by Alio Gold Inc. (formerly Timmins Gold Corp.)

  • The underwriters in connection with Silver Wheaton's US$800-million offering of common shares

  • Lundin Gold Inc. (formerly Fortress Mineral Corp.) on its acquisition of the US$240-million Fruta del Norte Gold Project in Ecuador from Kinross Gold Corporation and offering of approximately C$200-Million of subscription receipts which funds were used to fund the acquisition

  • True Gold Mining Inc. on its C$120-million stream financing facility from Franco-Nevada and Sandstorm Gold Ltd. for the construction of a gold mine in Burkina Faso

  • China Blue Chemical Ltd. and Benewood Holdings Corporation Limited through a joint venture company, CBC (Canada) Holding Corp., on its strategic C$32-million equity investment in Western Potash Corp. and subsequent development of the Milestone potash project, which is expected to require in excess of C$3-billion to fund

  • Aurizon Mines Ltd. in connection with the C$750-million hostile take-over bid by Alamos Gold Inc.

  • Catalyst Paper Corporation in connection with its reorganization under the Companies' Creditors Arrangement Act that resulted in a reduction of its debt by C$390-million, elimination of C$80-million of accrued interest and reduction of its annual interest expense and other cash costs by approximately C$70-million

  • NovaGold Resources Inc. in connection with the spin-out of its wholly owned subsidiary, NovaCopper Inc., to the shareholders of NovaGold; upon spin-out, the market capitalization of NovaCopper was approximately C$202.6-million

  • The Special Committee of Hathor Exploration Limited in connection with the hostile take-over bid by Cameco Corporation, which, after an auction, resulted in a friendly acquisition by Rio Tinto for C$654-million

  • A leading North American fund in connection with its investment in three Canadian resource companies

  • The underwriters on numerous public offerings of equity securities of issuers in the mining and technology spaces
