Catherine's practice focuses on debt financing, project finance, infrastructure and public-private partnerships.

Catherine regularly advises proponents of infrastructure projects throughout Canada, including in the transportation, social infrastructure, alternative energy, power and health-care sectors. She has also represented a wide variety of financial institutions in the financing of infrastructure assets, including bond underwriters, institutional investors, and both Canadian and international banks.

Catherine has extensive experience in operating and term credit facilities, asset-based financings, lease financings and structured financial products, and in structuring, negotiating and documenting domestic and cross-border financing transactions in the bank, private placement and public markets.

Catherine's closed projects include:

  • Enterprise Data Centre Expansion Project - A C$322-million project to design, build, finance and maintain a 50,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art, mission critical operating data centre located at the Canadian Forces Base in Borden, Ontario
  • Stanton Territorial Hospital Project - A project to design, build, finance and maintain the new Stanton Territorial Hospital in Yellowknife, Northwest Territories
  • Saskatchewan Hospital North Battleford Project - A project for an integrated mental health hospital and correctional facility, which has a development value of C$407-million
  • Saskatchewan Joint-Use Schools Project I - A project to design, build, finance and maintain six schools on three joint-use sites in Regina, Saskatchewan. The project will be delivered under a public-private partnership model with the Government of Saskatchewan over a 30-year term and has a contract value of C$186-million
  • Saskatchewan Joint-Use Schools Project II - A project to design, build, finance and maintain 12 schools on six joint-use sites in the communities of Saskatoon, Warman and Martensville, Saskatchewan. The project will be delivered under a public-private partnership model with the Government of Saskatchewan over a 30-year term and has a contract value of C$401.3-million
  • Haile Gold Mine - A US$200-million senior secured project finance facility for the development of Romarco's Haile Gold Mine project in South Carolina
  • Saskatoon Civic Operations Centre Project - The design, construction, financing and operations of a transit facility and permanent snow storage decontamination facility as part of the Civic Operations Centre for the City of Saskatoon
  • John Hart Generating Station Replacement Project - A C$1.093-billion project for the design, construction, financing, operation and maintenance of a new generating station, water bypass facility and associated water intake and tunnel located on Vancouver Island, British Columbia
  • Fort St. James Green Energy Project - A C$235-million, 40 MW, state-of-the-art, biomass-fired electricity generation facility located near Fort St. James, British Columbia; once constructed, the project will sell power under a 30-year electricity purchase agreement to BC Hydro
  • Bow Lake Wind Farm Project - An Ontario wind energy project with a nameplate capacity of 60 MW using 36 wind turbines; electricity will be sold to the Ontario Power Authority under 20-year power purchase agreements, which were awarded under the Green Energy Act Feed-In Tariff Program
  • Northeast Anthony Henday Drive Project - A C$1.81-billion project for the design, construction, financing, operation and maintenance of 27 kilometres of six- and eight-lane divided roadway, nine interchanges, two road flyovers, eight rail crossings (flyovers), and two bridges across the North Saskatchewan River, for a total of 46 bridge structures
  • Air Rail Link Project - A C$128.6-million project to design, build and finance the 3 km "spur line" for the Air Rail Link and a new passenger station at Toronto Pearson International Airport
  • London Health Sciences Centre and St. Joseph's Health Care London, Milestone 2, Phase 3 - A C$162.5-million project to build and finance the final phase of redevelopment
  • St. Joseph's Regional Mental Health Care Project - A C$830.5-million project to design, build, finance and maintain two new mental health-care facilities in London and St. Thomas, Ontario
  • Mental Health Centre Penetanguishene - A C$474-million project to design, build, finance and maintain a new, state-of the-art forensic mental health facility in Penetanguishene, Ontario
