Jordan's practice focuses on advising clients in a wide variety of capital markets transactions, including financings, mergers and acquisitions, and private placements. He also advises clients on corporate governance and securities regulatory matters, including the continuous disclosure obligations of public issuers.

Jordan was a summer student at Blakes in 2012 and completed his articles with the Firm in 2013/2014. During his articles, he completed a three-month secondment in the legal department of one of the Firm's foreign investment banking clients, where he worked on a variety of corporate, securities and compliance matters.

In 2016, Jordan completed a seven-month secondment with a large Canadian pension fund in the private equity and infrastructure branches where he worked on a number of in-house corporate and transactional matters.

  • The underwriters in connection with American Hotel Income Properties REIT LP's public offering of C$200.9-million limited partnership units and US$48.9-million convertible unsecured subordinated debentures due 2022

  • The underwriters in connection with Taseko Mines Limited's offering of US$250-million senior secured notes due 2022

  • Lundin Petroleum AB in the cross-border spin-off of International Petroleum Corporation as a public company listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange and the Nasdaq First North exchange with an initial market capitalization in excess of C$500-million on day of listing, and the associated US$100-million issuer bid launched by International Petroleum's wholly owned subsidiary Lundin Petroleum BV
  • Canoe EIT Income Fund in connection with its new issue public offering of C$140-million series 1 preferred units
  • The underwriters in connection with American Hotel Income Properties REIT LP's public offering of C$115-million limited partnership units
  • CI Financial Corp. and First Asset Capital Corp. in connection with CI Financial Corp.'s acquisition of First Asset Capital Corp. and the related change of control of the investment manager and regulatory approvals
  • The underwriters in connection with Automotive Properties Real Estate Investment Trust's initial public offering of C$75-million trust units

  • A consortium in achieving financial close on two projects valued at C$635-million to design, build, finance, operate and maintain 18 elementary schools and 9 joint-use facilities in Saskatchewan

  • Element Financial Corporation in connection with its acquisition of GE Capital's fleet operations in the United States & Mexico and Australia and New Zealand for C$8.6-billion

  • Open Text Corporation in connection with its continuous disclosure obligations and amendments to a security-based compensation arrangement

  • Open Text Corporation in connection with its normal course issuer bid and related filings

  • The underwriters in connection with Choice Properties Real Estate Investment Trust's public offering of C$250-million Series E Unsecured Debentures due 2020

  • CWN Mining Acquisition Corporation in connection with its acquisition of an option to acquire a 100% undivided interest in certain mining claims situated in the Yukon and the concurrent non-brokered private placement

  • Agrium Inc. on its acquisition of Viterra's wholesale and retail agri-products division from Glencore International plc and a related third party sale and divestiture transaction
