Justin's practice concentrates on mergers and acquisitions and other complex corporate and commercial transactions for both domestic and international clients. The transactions on which he advises encompass a broad range by type, size and industry focus. His experience includes cross-border transactions, leveraged transactions, management buyouts, carve-out transactions, earn-outs, service and supply arrangements, structured acquisitions, restructurings, joint ventures, fund formation (including venture capital, hedge, exchange-traded and pooled funds) and early-stage company structuring and financing.

Justin also has significant corporate finance and securities experience, including acting for issuers, advisors, dealers, sponsors and institutional investors in public and private offerings of securities, fund formation, investment management and regulatory compliance matters.

Justin has completed secondments to the legal groups of two large Canadian financial institutions.

  • Questcor Pharmaceuticals on its C$100-million acquisition of BioVectra

  • The Scarborough Hospital on its proposed amalgamation with the Rouge Valley Health System

  • CGG Canada on the sale of its Canadian land seismic business and acquisition of the business of Taurus Reservoir Solutions
