Mark is an Associate in the Information Technology Group. His practice focuses on all aspects of technology law, e-commerce law and outsourcing.
Mark returns to Blakes having obtained his LL.M. degree from the University of California at Berkeley (UC Berkeley), where he specialized in technology contracting and open-source licensing. He obtained his LL.B. degree from the University of Ottawa and his bachelor of applied science for engineering degree at the University of Waterloo, majoring in mechanical engineering.
After obtaining his engineering degree, Mark worked as a product manager and software developer for a number of years before attending law school. While at the University of Ottawa, he conducted extensive legal research for a number of professors and worked at both the Community Legal Clinic and the Canadian Internet Policy and Public Interest Clinic. While at UC Berkeley, Mark worked at the Samuelson Law, Technology & Public Policy Clinic.
Mark is a member of the Canadian IT Law Association and the Canadian Bar Association.
