Real Estate - Advising numerous Canadian and foreign-based institutional clients, including pension funds, life insurance companies, REITs, utility companies and Crown corporations, in connection with the acquisition, disposition, leasing and financing of their commercial and industrial properties.
Finance - Advising banks and other institutional lenders on loan transactions effected by way of mortgages, mortgage bonds, debentures and credit-tenant loans. He has acted for master servicers and special servicers on the assumption of securitized mortgages, and assisted in the implementation of various CMBS (commercial mortgage-backed security) offerings.
Infrastructure/P3 - Assisting clients in structuring major DBFO (design, build, finance and operate) projects in the transportation sector as public-private partnerships, and on the real estate and construction aspects of various energy-related infrastructure projects.
Garth is a member of The Law Society of Alberta, the Commercial Real Estate and Construction Subsections of the Canadian Bar Association, and is the past chair of the Government Affairs Committee of the Calgary chapter of NAIOP (Commercial Real Estate Development Association).
