Mary Jackson is the Chief Officer of Legal Personnel & Professional Development. In this role, she is responsible for the recruitment and development of Associates and law students.
Before joining Blakes, Mary practised civil litigation for six years at a large firm in Toronto. She was a law clerk to Madam Justice McLachlin at the Supreme Court of Canada in 1992-1993.
Mary is a graduate of the University of Toronto law school. She also obtained a bachelor of arts and a master of arts from the University of Toronto in 1984 and 1985, respectively. She was a lecturer at a number of different educational institutions, including Ryerson Polytechnic University and the University of Windsor from 1985 to 1992. She was a junior fellow of the Centre for Criminology at the University of Toronto from 1986 to 1989.
Although Mary is not presently practising law, she maintains an active interest in law and its development.
