Blakes is pleased to announce that Partners Nancy Diep and Eleni Kassaris have been honoured as Lexpert Rising Stars: Leading Lawyers Under 40 for 2015. The awards are presented to lawyers from law firms and in-house counsel, aged 40 or under, who are up-and-coming in the Canadian legal community. Lexpert selects the finalists based on a number of criteria, and an advisory board votes on the winning candidates.

Nancy practises tax law in our Calgary office, primarily on aspects of mergers, acquisitions and reorganizations. She particularly specializes in the area of resource taxation. Nancy has worked on a wide variety of transactions for multinationals, private companies, senior, intermediate and junior resource issuers, income and royalty trusts, and private equity groups. She is one of 32 women in Canada to be recognized as a leading female tax adviser in International Tax Review’s Women in Tax Leaders 2015.

Eleni is in our Vancouver office. She has a varied employment law and litigation and dispute resolution practice, and has appeared before federal and provincial courts as well as administrative bodies and tribunals on behalf of clients. In recognition of her dedication to pro bono work, she was awarded a Lexpert Zenith Award: Celebrating Pro Bono Publico in the Change Agent: Disability category for her work with the Parkinson Society of British Columbia.
