Antonio's practice focuses on litigation related to intellectual property rights, including disputes related to patents, copyright, trade-marks, industrial designs and trade secrets.  He represented clients in domain name disputes under both the Uniform Domain Name Dispute Resolution Policy and the CIRA Domain Name Dispute Resolution Policy.

Antonio is involved in the management of intellectual portfolios, including searching the availability of trade-marks, the filing and prosecution of trade-mark and copyright applications in Canada, as well as trade-mark opposition and non-use proceedings.

On the commercial side, he also assists clients in commercial transactions involving intellectual property and technology, such as financing and licensing.

SELECT EXPERIENCE
  • In Packers Plus v. Essential Energy, trial counsel for the defendant in successfully invalidating a patent relating to fracturing technology and obtaining a declaration of non-infringement
  • Counsel for the defendant at first instance and on appeal in a successful summary judgement motion related to allegations of copyright infringement
  • Counsel for the defendant in successfully overturning an Anton Pillar order
