Catherine advises clients on a wide range of securities and business law matters, with a focus on corporate finance and mergers and acquisitions. She has acted on behalf of issuers and underwriters in connection with public and private financings and on behalf of purchasers (including private equity sponsors) and targets in asset and share purchase transactions. She also provides ongoing advice to public issuers with respect to corporate governance requirements, continuous disclosure obligations and stock exchange matters.

Prior to joining Blakes, Catherine practised at another prominent Toronto law firm. She also spent one year practising at a leading U.S. law firm in New York as part of the foreign lawyer visiting program.

  • HLS Therapeutics Inc. in connection with its going-public transaction by way of reverse take-over and US$385-million private placement financing of debt and equity, which proceeds were used to acquire the Clozaril® rights from Novartis

  • ViXS Systems Inc. in connection with its going-public transaction by way of reverse take-over
