Darel practices extensively in the area of significant commercial litigation and dispute resolution. For more than 30 years he has appeared as counsel in all Alberta Courts, the Federal Court of Canada, the Supreme Court of Canada, and various regulatory boards, commissions and tribunals.

He has been retained to give evidence before foreign courts as an expert on Alberta substantive law and practice. He has presented papers and participated in seminars on a variety of subjects related to substantive law (such as fiduciary duties and arbitration clauses) and practice (for example, cross-examination on an Affidavit of Records, legal research, and Alternate Dispute Resolution).

Darel's clients include oil and gas companies, small business owners, and insurers. He combines his love of the law with a pragmatic and creative approach to problem solving and dispute resolution.
