Lisha works principally on secured lending and structured finance transactions, with a particular emphasis on aviation and project finance. She has experience on domestic and cross-border debt financing transactions and represented both borrowers and lenders in connection with secured and unsecured bilateral and syndicated loan structures.

Lisha also advises on aviation commercial and regulatory matters for financiers, lessors, investment funds, manufacturers and other participants in the aviation industry. She has experience with aircraft repossession and representing lessors in restructuring and insolvency matters.

Before joining Blakes, Lisha practised in the global finance and project finance groups at a reputable law firm in New York. Her practice focused on renewable energy projects in the Americas, and she has experience representing lenders, borrowers and sponsors in both secured and unsecured financing transactions.

While at Blakes, Lisha worked on an external secondment for the Aviation Working Group at the International Civil Aviation Organization in Montreal, on an international project to facilitate the cross-border transfers of aircraft.


Lisha has recently been involved in representing:

  • EllisDon in the New Toronto Courthouse Project - a C$964-million project to design, build, finance and maintain a large new courthouse in downtown Toronto, Ontario

  • KKR on a senior secured term loan facility to finance, in part, the acquisition of Staples, Inc. by an affiliate of Sycamore Partners in the largest leveraged buyout deal of the year

  • The City of Hamilton on the design, build, finance, operate and maintain Biosolids Management Project

  • H2O Power Limited Partnership, a joint venture between the Public Sector Pension Investment Board and BluEarth Renewables Inc., on the private placement of fixed-rate senior secured notes and the concurrent closing of senior secured credit facilities with TD and Bank of Montreal

  • Uptime Infrastructure Partners to design, build, finance, operate and maintain Shared Services Canada’s Enterprise Data Centre Borden, located at Canadian Forces Base Borden, Ontario
