Brady practises corporate and commercial litigation and arbitration, with a focus on complex commercial matters including contractual disputes, tort claims, public law remedies, class actions, regulatory controversy, and international trade and sanctions law. He acts for companies and individuals in a wide range of industries, including infrastructure and construction, government and public services, health services, and real estate. Brady has represented clients at all levels of court in British Columbia and has advised a range of commercial enterprises on trade and sanctions law.

Brady completed his articles at Blakes after being awarded his Ph.D from Trinity College, the University of Dublin (TCD), where he was an Irish Research Council Ph.D Scholar specializing in public finance governance and European fiscal integration. During his doctorate, Brady taught second and third-year law students and worked for a prominent barrister on commercial and public law issues in England and Ireland.

Prior to that, Brady received an LL.M. with distinction from TCD, where he finished first in his class. He also holds a first-class LL.B. (honours) from the University of Manchester and a B.A. in English literature and political science from the University of British Columbia.

  • multinational pharmaceutical and industrial manufacturing corporations in class actions involving statutory causes of action, tort claims, and conflicts of law

  • a range of commercial enterprises with respect to international trade and sanctions law

  • a BC employer in a discrimination claim under the BC Human Rights Code

  • a leading Canadian mental health charity with respect to intellectual property

  • a financial institution in a contractual dispute over a security agreement

  • a property developer in a dispute with a primary contractor

  • a multinational goods manufacturer in a commercial leasing dispute
