Blake, Cassels & Graydon LLP (Blakes) is pleased to announce that Partner Paul Schabas has been named one of Canada’s Top 25 Most Influential as a Changemaker by Canadian Lawyer Magazine.
The list, now in its ninth year, recognizes the most influential individuals in the Canadian justice system and legal profession.
Paul recently completed his tenure as the elected president of the Law Society of Ontario, the governing body of Ontario's 50,000 lawyers. Under his leadership, the Law Society of Ontario made changes in improving the equality and diversity of the profession and reconciliation with Indigenous peoples, access to justice and lawyer licensing processes.
He is a past-chair of the Law Foundation of Ontario and a past-president of the Canadian Media Lawyers Association and Pro Bono Law Ontario.
Paul was previously named one of Canada’s Top 25 Most Influential in the Corporate Commercial category in 2011.
