Blakes Welcomes 12 New Partners

TORONTO (January 18, 2016) – Blake, Cassels & Graydon LLP (Blakes), one of Canada’s leading business law firms, has announced the addition of 12 new partners across four of its Canadian offices.

In reaching this new milestone, they will take on additional responsibilities and deepen their engagement with the Firm’s clients. Aldona Gudas and Clémentine Sallée are the two new partners in our Montréal office. They specialize respectively in labour and employment law, and in procurement, construction and infrastructure, including public-private partnerships.

Toronto welcomes three new partners: Rahat Godil, who specializes in complex commercial litigation and international arbitrations and also has experience in class actions and constitutional litigation; David Rosner, whose expertise focuses on Canadian competition law and foreign investment law; and Elizabeth​ Sale, an expert on financial regulatory matters, including consumer protection and fintech.

Calgary counts four new partners: Chris HarrisOlga KaryKatie Slipp and Ryan Zahara. Chris specializes in transactional and commercial matters in the energy industry, while Olga practises corporate and securities law, with a primary focus on securities matters. Katie has developed an expertise in regulatory and environmental approvals and compliance issues, and Ryan’s focus is on restructuring and insolvency matters.

Finally, the three new partners in Vancouver are: Laura Cundari, a commercial litigator with a focus on complex tort and contractual disputes, class actions, securities litigation, aboriginal law and construction litigation, Carrie Fleming, whose expertise is in infrastructure projects and international public-private partnerships, and Soraya ​Jamal, who specializes in complex domestic and international corporate taxation matters, including mergers and acquisitions, corporate reorganizations and cross-border transactions.
