Blakes is pleased to announce that our Litigation & Dispute Resolution practice has once again been honoured for “exceptional work throughout the past year” in the 2016 Benchmark Canada Awards. The annual awards ceremony was held on February 22 at the Intercontinental Hotel in Toronto.
Blakes has been receiving Benchmark Canada Awards since they were first introduced in 2013. This year, we won in the following categories:
- Alberta Firm of the Year
- Securities Firm of the Year
- Impact Case of the Year for successful representation of Celestica at the Supreme Court of Canada
- Ontario Litigator of the Year – Michael Barrack
Researchers at Benchmark spend six months conducting extensive interviews with litigators and their clients to identify the leading litigators and firms. During these interviews, researchers examine recent law firm casework and ask individual litigators to offer their professional opinions on peers. Recommendations are based on interviews with the nation’s leading private-practice lawyers and in-house counsel, and firms cannot pay to be recommended.
