Blakes is pleased to announce that acclaimed technology entrepreneur and visionary Michael Hyatt will be working with the Firm in the role of Entrepreneur in Residence.
Michael, whose track record includes co-founding two highly successful technology companies, BlueCat and Dyadem, will complement the Blakes legal team and provide practical insights and guidance to emerging technology clients.
The announcement follows the recent launch of Nitro powered by Blakes, a program that provides access to top-tier legal services for emerging technology companies in the Toronto-Waterloo Region Corridor.
“Michael’s impressive experience, vast network, and deep understanding of the tech and entrepreneurship communities will be of tremendous value to the Firm’s clients,” said Brock Gibson, Chair of Blakes.
“I believe emerging technology is at the epicentre of Canada’s future,” said Michael. “With the Nitro program, Blakes is providing an unrivalled depth of expertise to emerging technology companies and removing barriers to help them achieve their goals.
“What has inspired me most about Nitro is that it’s being done for the right reasons — Blakes wants to see these businesses succeed. Because if these companies succeed, Canada succeeds.”
As Entrepreneur in Residence, Michael will also serve as a champion for the Nitro program and advise its leadership team to ensure Nitro continues to deliver outstanding client service for emerging technology clients during the crucial early stages of development.
