The next game-changing innovation for business law will be revealed when the winner of the Global Legal Innovation Challenge is announced on November 29.
Entries have come in from across the world since the Challenge, a partnership with Blakes and legal innovation experts Law Made, was launched in February.
“We asked some of the most innovative legal technology companies in the world to work on a solution to bring clarity from complexity for our clients,” said Carla Swansburg, Director, Practice Innovation, Pricing & Knowledge.
“The results have been surprising, inspiring and have shown the real potential that exists in the legal tech space.
“We are now in the process of determining a winner from the companies we have shortlisted — and, thanks to the calibre of entries, we don’t anticipate the judging process to be easy.”
The shortlisted entrants will pitch their solution to a panel of judges on November 28, with the winner being announced the following day.
The winner of the Challenge — which asked how we can use technology to keep businesses updated on legislative and regulatory changes — will receive support from both Blakes and Law Made. They will also have the opportunity to work alongside Blakes in developing the idea. The estimated value of the prize is C$100,000.
