Cybersecurity for Directors, Officers and Transactional Lawyers

Cybersecurity for Directors, Officers and Transactional Lawyers
Toronto, October 27, 2017

Cybersecurity should be a critical chapter in every company's risk management playbook. Building on prior seminars relating to pre-breach preparedness and post-breach duties, members of the Blakes Cybersecurity group will provide advanced training on the duties of directors and officers, as well as preservation of privilege.

Our partners will be joined by Tim Appleby of cyber-breach response experts Mandiant. Tim will share his insight on M&A security assessments, drawing on Mandiant’s experience in evaluating, assessing and reducing risk at every stage of the M&A process.

Topics

  • Identifying cybersecurity risks earlier in the M&A process
  • Understanding the duties of directors and officers in overseeing the company's information security framework, as well as in the wake of a breach
  • Establishing a privilege strategy for cyber-risk management activities, including preparing for and responding to a data-security incident
