Indigenous legal issues continue to be front and centre for many energy, mining, infrastructure and other businesses. This year’s Aboriginal Law Update will focus on recent changes to the treatment of Indigenous rights and knowledge, in federal and provincial legislation and policies, negotiations, and case law.
We are pleased to include a presentation by Amanda Spyce and Glenn Sorensen in this year’s update. Amanda is the Indigenous consultation lead of the Alberta Utilities Commission (AUC) and responsible for developing and implementing the AUC’s Indigenous consultation policies and procedures alongside AUC’s Facilities and Law divisions. Glenn is the Strategic Relations Manager for Alberta’s Aboriginal Consultation Office and works closely with other government ministries and regulators to ensure that Alberta’s duty to consult is met.
We look forward to a lively discussion.
