BMO & Blakes Indigenous Summer Student Program

Bank of Montreal (BMO) and Blake, Cassels & Graydon LLP (Blakes) have a strong commitment to providing legal services in a workplace which is rich in perspectives, backgrounds and culture.  The BMO & Blakes Indigenous Summer Student Program has been established to provide an opportunity for an Indigenous undergraduate student who is considering law school to gain work experience in a law firm environment and in a bank/corporate environment, to observe lawyers in the different workplaces and to perform a variety of tasks.

The student will work virtually for 4 weeks in the Blakes Toronto office, with a focus on projects that provide exposure to the practice and business of law. The student will also work virtually for 4 weeks in the Legal & Regulatory Compliance Group of BMO in Toronto. The student will be mentored by members of both BMO and Blakes.

Who can Apply?
This Program is open exclusively to Indigenous undergraduate students.

Structure of the Program
The Program will run for 8 weeks starting in June 2022 and is a paid internship. We expect that the program will be offered as a hybrid model of remote and in person work, consistent with return-to-work policies of Blakes and BMO.
