Legal Assistant, Employment & Labour (18-Month Contract)
Blake, Cassels & Graydon LLP (Blakes), one of Canada’s largest and most successful law firms, has an immediate opening for a Legal Assistant to join the Employment & Labour group in the Toronto office. This position is an 18-month contract.
Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Maintaining physical and electronic filing systems (e-filing/organizing)

Preparing, serving and filing court documents, including Superior Court of Ontario, Small Claim Court, Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario and Ontario Labour Relations Board

Editing and proofreading dockets

Managing, monitoring and maintaining calendars for potential meetings, materials for meetings, etc.

Responsible for general administrative duties such as scheduling appointments and meetings, booking meeting rooms, making travel arrangements

Additional legal and administrative support responsibilities as required

Experience with serving and filing documents

Excellent organizational and time management skills

Strong attention to detail and accuracy

Strong ability to handle multiple tasks and projects and meet deadlines

Strong technical proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint)is required

Hours of work will be 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; however, regular working hours are subject to change depending on Firm requirements
