Associate, Indigenous and Environmental

Blakes is seeking an Associate (2-4 year call) to join the Vancouver office to work with its Indigenous and Environmental groups. We would like to speak to candidates who have relevant experience at a large firm or smaller boutique firm or a government agency, practising on either the solicitor or litigation side (or both).

The Blakes Indigenous and Environmental groups act on behalf of corporations, governments and institutions in connection with a wide array of environmental, regulatory and Indigenous law matters. We advise on virtually every aspect of Indigenous rights, negotiating corporate-Indigenous agreements for some of the largest natural resource projects in Canada and litigating landmark claims involving environmental issues and Indigenous rights.

Blakes also finds solutions to environmental and Indigenous law challenges by navigating the layers of environmental regulation; advising on environmental assessments, permitting and approvals; devising risk-management strategies; and resolving disputes, all while advancing our clients’ business objectives.

Our knowledge of existing Canadian regulations and strong relationships with federal, provincial and municipal regulators help us anticipate requirements and strategically guide clients on environmental obligations and the unique legal landscape and Indigenous rights across all Canadian jurisdictions.

As a member of Blakes, you will have the opportunity to work on some of the best legal work in Canadian markets with a highly respected team of lawyers.

If you are interested in joining our dynamic team, please submit your cover letter, résumé and transcripts to:
