Junior Corporate Compliance Law Clerk

Blake, Cassels & Graydon LLP (Blakes), one of Canada’s largest and most successful law firms, has an opening for a Junior Corporate Compliance Law Clerk to provide support to legal professionals within the Corporate Services practice group in the Toronto office.
 
Primary responsibilities of the Junior Corporate Law Clerk include, but are not limited to:

  • Assisting the Toronto corporate law clerk team with Ontario and cross-Canada registrations and annual filings

  • Assisting other Blakes offices with Ontario filings

  • Preparing routine annual resolutions for CBCA and OBCA corporations maintained by the Toronto office

  • Assisting with various special project such as summaries of registrations and agents, as requested by lawyers and clients from time-to-time

  • Assisting with updating and maintaining MinuteBox electronic corporate records

  • Conducting routine searches and liaise with search department

  • Liaising with cross-Canada agents

 Qualifications
Education/Experience:

  • Law Clerk diploma from a college or equivalent is required; current students working towards ILCO law clerk certification will also be considered

 Skills/Abilities:

  • Ability to follow instructions with minimum supervision and be able to thrive in a fast-paced, team environment

  • Works well independently and as part of a team

  • Excellent organizational skills, high attention to detail, and the ability to multitask

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to organize and prioritize competing deadlines

  • Desire to learn and develop skills
