Email Fraud

Fraudulent Communication Claiming To Be From Blakes

We have learned that several individuals have received fraudulent emails that appear to come from lawyers at Blakes by the names of Dr. Michael Braxton or Robert Blake of the (fictional) firm Blake, Cassels & Wilson. These emails suggest that the recipient may be entitled to an inheritance from a deceased relative and offers assistance in that regard.

These messages do not come from Blake, Cassels & Graydon LLP.

If you received an email of this kind, we suggest that you do not respond, click on any links or open attachments to the email, or engage with the sender. We have reported this matter to the Toronto Police. If you have actually lost any money as a result of this communication, they recommend that you report the crime to your local police.
