About Imad

Imad has a broad civil and commercial litigation practice. He has experience in a variety of areas, including complex tort and contractual disputes, class action defence, arbitration and administrative law. Imad has assisted with matters at various court levels, including at the Supreme Court of Canada.

Imad joined Blakes as a summer student and subsequently articled with the Firm. While at law school, Imad volunteered with a community legal clinic and lead contract law tutorials.

Select Experience

Recent matters in which Imad has been involved include:

  • Assisting a global manufacturer of consumer and professional products with investigating, assessing and responding to adverse reaction reports relating to product liability

  • Representing a trust corporation in defending a proposed class action concerning various syndicated mortgages

  • Representing a chartered bank in defending a breach of contract, negligence and conversion action

  • Representing a chartered bank in defending an employment claim

  • Representing various corporations in arbitration matters

  • Working as part of the Blakes trial team to assist a leading pharmaceutical corporation in defending various proposed class actions and individual actions relating to product liability 

Professional Activities

Imad is a member of The Advocates' Society.

Imad provides pro bono assistance to public interest organizations and individuals. He also volunteers with the Pro Bono Ontario Free Legal Advice Hotline, providing summary legal advice to Ontarians.
