Known for her deep commitment to the TRU Law community, Yasamin has committed much of her time to mentorship and student initiatives. Yasamin was the managing editor of the Canadian Journal of Comparative and Contemporary Law. She served as the co-chair of the Society of Law Students Legal Conference and has been voted as the student representative on the TRU Appointments Committee for the past two terms. She has acted as a research assistant to a contracts law and a criminal law professor, editing scholarly articles for inclusion in the book: C. Hunt and R. Diab, Digital Privacy and the Charter.
Yasamin was awarded Dean's Course Prizes for Advanced Legal Research & Writing, the Canadian Journal of Comparative and Contemporary Law and Immigration Law and was a Dean's List recipient. She was the recipient of the Gregory S. Pun Q.C. Prize in Advanced Legal Research Award.
In her spare time, Yasamin enjoys wakesurfing with her family and friends during the warm months. She is also an avid Whitecaps FC fan, is passionate about travelling and exploring new cultures and cuisine worldwide and especially enjoys watching true-drama movies and documentaries.
