  • Represented the executive director of a prominent museum in a reputational claim in the wake of a highly publicized dismissal.

  • Defended an accounting firm against a claim of C$55-million by a trust for losses allegedly incurred as a result of the faults of the accounting firm.

  • Represented a renowned French publisher in a series of proceedings brought in the wake of an asset purchase transaction it had concluded with a competitor, pursuant to which the competitor filed for bankruptcy.

  • Represented a forensic accounting firm in two motions for a stay, filed by a pharmacy retailer and its pharmacists, of an administrative investigation by the Province of Quebec against them on the grounds that the firm had violated their professional secrecy over the course of said investigation.

  • Represented a global office property company in the context of an application for an injunction by a group of minority shareholders who were seeking to postpone the company’s annual general meeting.

  • Defended an auditor against a claim by the buyer of a company who was claiming that it relied on faulty financial statements that he had audited to make the decision to purchase the company.

  • Defended a trustee in bankruptcy against a claim of over C$4-million by the purchasers of a bankrupt cheese factory on the basis that they relied on false representations made to them by the trustee and other defendants to make the decision to purchase the cheese factory and that, in that context, the defendants also committed several faults which had caused them damages.

Caroline is a Fellow of the Litigation Counsel of America, an invitation-only trial lawyer honorary society whose membership is limited to 3,500 Fellows, representing less than 0.5% of American and Canadian lawyers.

Professional Activities

Caroline chairs the board of directors of the Théâtre du Nouveau Monde and is board member of the CHU Sainte-Justine Foundation and The Advocates’ Society. She also serves on the Executive Committee of the Quebec Chapter of the Institute of Corporate Directors (ICD).

Caroline has taught evidence at the Quebec Bar School for several years and has acted as a mentor in the pilot project of the Canadian Institute for the Administration of Justice. She is a current member of the following associations:
