  • Providing strategic advice and support to a major international pipeline company on its engagement with multiple Indigenous groups, including negotiating and drafting capacity funding agreements, letters of intent and impact benefit agreements

  • Leading the environmental and Aboriginal due diligence for an energy company in the successful acquisition of four operating renewable energy facilities, including three run-of-river hydro facilities and one wind facility

  • Advising a large energy corporation in a dispute with a multi-community Indigenous People concerning a historic settlement agreement and recent impacts resulting from the operation of a complex energy system

  • Advising an energy company on a range of environmental issues during the construction of a large-scale energy project, including environmental assessment certificate compliance, remediation and restoration obligations, and wildlife and protected species management

  • Advising various mining companies regarding the negotiation of capacity funding agreements, exploration agreements and impact benefit agreements with Indigenous groups, including First Nations with unresolved claims, historic treaties, and modern land claim agreements

  • Advising various companies on international standards as they relate to Aboriginal issues in Canada, including the UN Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples

  • Successfully representing a run-of-river hydro project in an appeal to the Environmental Appeal Board regarding a water licence

  • Representing various clients in prosecuting and defending claims for clean-up costs associated with contaminated sites

  • Advising manufacturing and service-based industries on the product stewardship plan requirements for recycling used oil, packaging and printed paper

  • Representing clients in various industries in the defence and resolution of regulatory charges
