About Catherine

Catherine maintains a diversified litigation and dispute resolution practice, with a focus on intellectual property (IP) matters, such as patents, trademarks and copyright issues. 

Catherine has experience managing IP disputes for multinational companies in a broad range of industries, including technology and life sciences. She regularly provides clients with strategic advice on protecting their IP assets and has experience prosecuting trademarks. 

Catherine previously served as a law clerk to the Honourable Justice Donald J. Rennie of the Federal Court of Appeal. While in that role, she assisted with a variety of IP cases. She also gained extensive experience in administrative law during judicial review proceedings before federal boards and tribunals.

Some of Catherine’s recent notable matters include representing:

  • An innovator drug company in ongoing patent litigation involving a multiple sclerosis drug
  • An innovator drug company in an appeal before the Supreme Court of Canada involving a schizophrenia drug
Awards & Recognition

Catherine was named on Pro Bono Ontario’s Access to Justice Honour Roll as one of their top volunteers in both 2023 and 2024.

Professional Activities

Catherine is a member-at-large of the 2024-2025 Ontario Bar Association’s Young Lawyers Division (Central) Section Executive.
