Laura's litigation practice includes complex commercial litigation, class action defence, constitutional and other public and administrative law cases.
As a member of the Firm's Public Sector Crisis & Compliance group, Laura helps clients navigate high-stakes legal issues. She regularly litigates media and defamation cases, privacy, and access to information matters, and advises clients involved in government and internal investigations and public inquiries. Laura regularly advises on lobbying matters, gifting rules, conflict of interest regimes, and election finance rules.
Laura also has significant experience defending companies in consumer protection class actions and defends class actions on behalf of clients involved in numerous industries, such as manufacturers of automobiles and all manner of food and consumer products, as well as for professional-service organizations, financial institutions and insurers.
Prior to joining Blakes, Laura clerked at the Federal Court of Appeal.
