About Elizabeth

Beth's practice encompasses a wide range of commercial real estate matters, including leasing, purchase and sale transactions, and financings. She regularly acts for a broad range of domestic and international clients, including pension funds, lenders, institutional investors, landlords and tenants.

Beth has a particular interest in leasing and has acted for both landlords and tenants on a range of matters, including sale/leasebacks, lease financings and negotiations of leases for office, industrial and retail properties, lease amending agreements, and sublease and assignment agreements.

  • Sycamore Partners in connection with its acquisition of the Canadian business of Lowe's Companies

  • Starlight Investments and KingSett Capital in connection with their C$4.9-billion acquisition of Northview Apartment REIT

  • Americold Realty Trust on its acquisition, through its subsidiary Nova Cold Logistics ULC, of Liberty Infrastructures ULC

  • DSV Solutions Inc. on its sale and leaseback of a 1.1-million-square-foot build-to-suit industrial logistics property at Yukon Court in Milton, Ontario

  • Cactus Restaurant Group, in connection with their lease restaurant locations across Canada, including those under the "Cactus Club Cafe" banner

  • One of the largest food companies globally, providing leasing advice for various retail locations in Canada

  • Ribbon Building, The Distillery Historical District in connection with Collège Boréal's future campus in Toronto's Distillery District

  • JCF Capital ULC in its acquisition of the debt on Trump International Hotel and Tower in Toronto, Ontario

  • Sun Life Assurance Company in connection with real property financings, including first mortgage acquisition financing

  • TransGlobe Apartment Real Estate Investment Trust in the acquisition and financing of 57 properties as part of a management internalization transaction, and its subsequent privatization

  • A Crown agency in numerous transactions involving the acquisition of rail corridors

  • Ontario Pension Board in its C$370-million purchase of Erin Mills Town Centre regional shopping centre, Mississauga, Ontario

  • A major North American entity in its sale of several office sites located in Toronto, Ontario

  • MaRS Discovery District on a range of leasing matters for its Toronto MaRS Centre Development, including lease negotiations and renewals

  • Morguard Investments on lease amending agreements relating to tenant conversions

  • EmTwo Properties on a range of leasing matters, including early surrenders, renewals and assignments

  • Landlords and tenants in the drafting and negotiation of leases for office, industrial and retail space, lease amending agreements and subleases
