  • goeasy on its C$320-million acquisition of LendCare

  • IGM Financial Inc.'s subsidiary Mackenzie Financial on its acquisition of a 13.9% interest in China Asset Management Co., Ltd. for C$647-million

  • Republic Financial Holdings Limited on its acquisition of Scotiabank's retail banking and insurance business in British Virgin Islands, and on its separate acquisition of Scotiabank's retail banking and insurance business in seven other Caribbean jurisdictions

  • Huada Semiconductor Co. Ltd. on its acquisition of Solantro Semiconductor Corp.

  • InvestEco Capital on the formation of InvestEco Sustainable Food Fund III, InvestEco Sustainable Food Fund II, and in their growth equity investments, including in Acid League, LesserEvil, Mama Earth Organics, Kuli Kuli, Maple Hill Creamery and Canadian Garden Puree Products

  • Sinochem on its strategic cooperation agreement with Kazphosphate

  • China Netcom on U.S. law aspects of its US$24-billion acquisition by China Unicom

  • Sina Corporation on its proposed US$1.3-billion acquisition of the principal assets of Focus Media

  • China Minsheng Banking Corporation on its strategic investment in UCBH Holdings, the bank holding company of California-based United Commercial Bank

  • Management on its proposed US$5.2-billion buyout, with The Carlyle Group, of Taipei-based Advanced Semiconductor Engineering

  • Huawei Technologies on its US$882-million sale of its 49% interest in Huawei-3Com, its Chinese joint venture with 3Com Corporation, to 3Com

  • Taipei-based E-Ton Solar Tech on its C$150-million cash and stock acquisition of California-based Adema Technologies

  • China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC) on its US$2.27-billion acquisition of an interest in a Nigerian offshore exploration and development licence

  • China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) on its US$4.2-billion acquisition of PetroKazakhstan and related transactions
