About Joanne

Joanne retired as a Blakes Partner in December 2022. Her practice emphasized in-depth legal analysis and written advocacy in the context of a broad range of commercial law and public law areas, including contracts and business transactions, corporations, trusts, property law, constitutional law, administrative law, Crown law, Indigenous law, private international law and appellate practice.

Joanne drafted arguments and written submissions for use at all levels of the British Columbia and federal court systems, including the Supreme Court of Canada, and for use in arbitrations, administrative proceedings and commissions of inquiry. Her practice also included advising on non-litigious matters.
