Simon's practice focuses on financial services in the areas of banking and commercial lending transactions, including debt financing, acquisition finance, project finance and related transactional work. He also assists clients with general corporate and commercial matters.

Simon primarily works in the energy, oil and gas and related services industries, but also has experience representing both borrowers and lending institutions in connection with secured and unsecured financing transactions, including both bilateral and syndicated loan transactions. He also has experience in general bankruptcy and insolvency matters.

Prior to joining Blakes, Simon worked as an account manager at a western Canadian bank and as a summer student in the legal department of a mid-size oil and gas company.
