Rasmeet joins Blakes as an Articling Student. She recently received her J.D. from the Peter A. Allard School of Law at the University of British Columbia. During law school, Rasmeet was President of the South Asian Law Students Association and a member of the Allard Women’s Caucus. She also completed the Indigenous Cultural Competency certification course under the Indigenous Legal Studies Program.
Rasmeet was a judicial intern at the Provincial Court of British Columbia where she worked for several provincial court judges. She also volunteered for Pro Bono Students Canada where she provided assistance to low-income litigants appearing in civil chambers before the British Columbia Supreme Court and Court of Appeal.
Outside of law school, Rasmeet sat on the Federation of Asian Canadian Lawyer’s board as a student director and worked at a boutique corporate law firm in downtown Vancouver. Prior to law school, Rasmeet earned a B.A. in Political Science with distinction at Simon Fraser University and sat on the board of her community’s chapter of Rotary International.
In her spare time, Rasmeet enjoys hiking and discovering new restaurants around the city.
