Jacob returns to Blakes as an Articling Student after joining the Firm as a summer student in 2020. During his time at the Firm, he assisted the Restructuring and Insolvency group with research for their publication of Burnt Out: Lessons from the Cannabis Crash, published in the Annual Review of Insolvency Law, February 26, 2021.
Jacob completed his JD at the University of Alberta. During law school, he has been an executive on the Golden Bearristers men's law rugby team and volunteered for Civil Claims Duty Counsel through ProBono Students Canada.
Before attending law school, Jacob earned a bachelor of science (psychology) with distinction from the University of Calgary. During his undergraduate degree, Jacob worked for the Students' Union and volunteered with Students for Literacy. Jacob completed his degree abroad, studying geography in Southeast Asia.
In his spare time, Jacob enjoys hiking, fly fishing and snowboarding.
