Sarah’s practice covers a wide range of employment and labour law matters, including employment standards, wrongful dismissal, workplace harassment, pay equity, work-place policies, non-competition clauses, union certification, and employment and la-bour dispute resolution and litigation.
Sarah also regularly advises corporations on employee-related matters in commercial transactions, such as asset and share acquisitions.
She further provides guidance to employers on the hiring, transfer and termination of employees, on the negotiation and drafting of executive employment agreements and termination packages as well as on the interpretation of collective agreements.
Before joining Blakes in September 2019, Sarah notably spent nine years in Paris, where she worked for several leading international firms as a lawyer specializing in French labour law.
In these roles, she advised several multinational organizations on the employment as-pects of their mergers and acquisitions and other cross-border projects. She also frequently assisted employers in the implementation of their reorganization and workforce reduction projects, as well as in the framework of internal investigations. Finally, she has regularly represented her clients’ interests before the French labour courts, notably in relation to disputes regarding wrongful termination, psychological harassment, dis-crimination, pay equity and overtime pay.
