  • Protecting the rights of the City of Montréal in the bankruptcy proceedings of Bixi

  • Pursuing the claim of a major U.S.-based mid-market financing firm against a Quebec-based multinational security services provider in relation to the bankruptcy of the United Protections Services Group (currently before the Quebec Court of Appeal)

  • Representing KPMG in its capacity as court-appointed Monitor and manger/administrator in the insolvency proceedings of the developers of the Square Candiac real estate project under the Companies' Creditors Arrangement Act (CCAA)

  • Acted for Bloom Lake General Partner Limited and various affiliates in their CCAA insolvency proceedings involving the closure of two of the largest iron ore mines in Canada

  • Acted for behalf of RB Energy Inc. and Quebec Lithium Inc. in their CCAA proceedings involving the closure of their iodine and lithium mines

  • Represented the first-ranking secured creditor in the CCAA proceedings of Strateco Resources resulting from the failure of a planned uranium mining project

  • Acted as Canadian counsel to an equity receiver appointed by the U.S. courts in cross-border proceedings involving a massive consumer fraud estimated at hundreds of millions of dollars

  • Successfully obtained Canadian court approval of a plan of arrangement in cross-border insolvency proceedings for the settlement of hundreds of billions of dollars of claims, including thousands of asbestos personal injury claims worth billions of dollars

  • Successfully obtained court approval of corporate plans of arrangement under the applicable federal and provincial corporate legislation on behalf of several private and public companies

  • Represented interested parties in the class action proceedings and the insolvency proceedings of Montreal, Maine & Atlantic Canada Co. in relation to the train derailment and explosion in Lac-Mégantic, Quebec

  • Successfully defended the interests of a leading multilevel marketing company in the defence of a proposed national class action brought on behalf of 40,000 Canadian distributors alleging misrepresentations and operating an illegal pyramid scheme in violation of the Competition Act

  • Acted in the interest of several creditors in the restructuring of AbitibiBowater Inc., and others, under the CCAA
