About Carly

Carly’s practice focuses on all areas of corporate/commercial litigation and dispute resolution, including arbitration, contractual disputes, insurance disputes, construction disputes, and access to information matters. Carly has appeared before the Alberta Court of Justice and the Alberta Court of King’s Bench, and has assisted with matters before the Alberta Court of Appeal, Tax Court of Canada, and Federal Court of Canada.

Carly’s practice also includes anti-bribery, corruption and white-collar criminal investigations under Blakes Business Crimes, Investigations & Compliance group. She has experience conducting internal corruption investigations and evaluating corporate compliance programs and policies for sanctions, lobbying, and conflicts of interest risks and has participated in on-site risk assessments in South America.

Prior to joining Blakes, Carly completed a clerkship at the Alberta Court of King’s Bench in Calgary.

Professional Activities

Carly is a member of the Law Society of Alberta.

Carly volunteers with the King’s Bench Amicus Program, where she provides pro bono legal advice to unrepresented litigants. Carly’s other pro bono work includes representing a non-profit counselling centre for sexual assault survivors by defending against applications for the disclosure of counselling records.
