About Cassandra

Cassandra advises on all aspects of competition law, including mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, distribution practices, criminal and civil investigations and compliance, as well as foreign investment transactions under the Investment Canada Act. Her clients span a variety of industries, including energy, mining, technology, pharmaceutical, consumer products, agricultural, telecommunications, transportation, aviation, financial services, manufacturing, automotive and real estate.

She has completed secondments to Coca-Cola Limited, a major international law firm based in London and our New York office.

Cassandra is fluent in French.

  • Suncor Energy Inc. on its C$1.468-billion acquisition of TotalEnergies EP Canada Ltd.

  • Suncor Energy Inc. on its C$688-million acquisition of an additional 14.65% working interest in the Fort Hills Project from Teck Resources Limited

  • Pembina Pipeline Corporation in connection with Pembina Gas Infrastructure's sale of its 50% interest in the Key Access Pipeline System for C$662.5-million

  • Pembina Pipeline Corporation on its C$11.4-billion joint venture with KKR & Co. Inc. to merge their western Canadian natural gas processing assets

  • WestJet in connection with its C$5.0-billion acquisition by Onex Corporation

  • The Stars Group Inc. in connection with its announced US$15-billion enterprise value merger of equals with Flutter Entertainment Inc.

  • PayPal Holdings, Inc. on its US$400-million acquisition of Hyperwallet Systems Inc.

  • Pembina Pipeline Corporation in connection with its US$9.7-billion acquisition of Veresen Inc.

  • Trican Well Service Ltd. on its C$637-million acquisition of Canyon Services Group Inc.

  • Agrium Inc. on its proposed US$38-billion merger of equals with Potash Corporation of Saskatchewan Inc.

  • Suncor Energy Inc. on its purchase of all of the shares of Canadian Oil Sands Limited valued at C$6.6-billion

  • Agrium Inc. in connection with a series of acquisitions related to its retail agriculture and fertilizer businesses in Alberta and Saskatchewan

  • Canada Pension Plan Investment Board (CPPIB), as Canadian counsel, on its acquisition of 40% of Glencore Agricultural Products (Glencore Agri), valuing Glencore Agri at US$6.25-billion

  • Holcim Ltd on its divestment of North American cement, ready-mix, aggregates and construction facilities to CRH plc

  • Holcim Ltd on its $50 billion merger with Lafarge S.A.

  • Marine Harvest ASA on its acquisition of a significant minority interest in Grieg Seafood ASA

  • Pembina Pipeline Corporation on its US$650-million acquisition of the cross-border Vantage Pipeline and Mistral Midstream extraction plant from Riverstone Holdings and Mistral Midstream
