About Liliane

Liliane maintains a regulatory practice in the Technology group, with a focus on communications law, payments, FinTech and artificial intelligence.

In her communications practice, Liliane provides strategic advice to broadcasters, social media platforms and interactive digital media companies. Drawing on her policy background, Liliane supports her clients in navigating this rapidly evolving regulatory landscape, with a focus on the amended Broadcasting Act proceedings, online news, and content moderation. She helps her clients translate business-focused concerns about law and regulation to regulators and government in the technology space. 

Liliane’s regulatory practice is geared towards the interaction between innovative technologies and developing regulatory frameworks. She provides advice to companies offering payment services on regulatory compliance with payment systems obligations, retail payments legislation, anti-money laundering and consumer protection requirements. She also supports her clients in establishing governance mechanisms and standards related to artificial intelligence, data management and cybersecurity. 

Liliane’s cybersecurity practice spans the entire breach lifecycle, from incident response, regulatory notifications, crisis communications to proactive cyber risk assessment.

Prior to joining Blakes, Liliane clerked at the Federal Court of Appeal.

Liliane is fluent in English and French.
