Blakes is pleased to announce that Mathew Good, an Associate in our Vancouver office, has been presented with the Allan Parker QC Award for Representation Services by the Access Pro Bono Society of British Columbia (Access Pro Bono). The award recognizes the exemplary representation services of an individual volunteer lawyer. Mathew received this award for his significant hours of pro bono work in 2015, including taking on a number of cases, most of which he settled or resolved, and providing tremendous service to clients in numerous communities in B.C.
The award was named in honour of the late Allan Parker QC, who was an executive director of Access Justice (which has since merged with Pro Bono Law of BC to create Access Pro Bono) and an associate executive director of Access Pro Bono.
Access Pro Bono also recognized Blakes for our long commitment to pro bono service and the broad array of work we do. In addition, Partner Bill Sirett, now retired, was listed as one of Access Pro Bono’s Top 30 Funders in 2015.
Access Pro Bono’s mission is to promote access to justice in B.C. by providing and fostering quality pro bono legal services for people and not-for-profit organizations of limited means.
